Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

I can remember way back when I was a student dreaming of snow days. They were the best. No school, snowmen, and lots of hot chocolate. Unfortunately, growing up in El Paso they were few and far between.

I have recently discovered something that I didn't know back then. TEACHERS PRAY HARDER FOR SNOW DAYS THAN THE STUDENTS DO! Tonight there is a chance of snow, so I was advised (by adults) to do the following things in order to improve our chances.

1) Do the snow dance. I don't know what the Snow Dance is, I assume it is something people only do in the privacy of their own home. Therefore, I have never learned it.

2) Wear my pajamas inside out. I can't figure out how this is remotely related to snow. It doesn't sound particularly comfortable.

3) Flush ice cubes down the toilet. Who thought this one up? I thought that with temperatures like 7 degrees, you were trying to keep the pipes from freezing. I can just imagine explaining this one to my landlord. "Well I was trying to cause it to snow so I could get a day off from work, so I flushed ice cubes down the toilet and they got stuck and since it was so cold they didn't melt and then the pipes burst so that when it warmed up they leaked sewage all over the house."

Never fear, I have insurance.

  • Wow, 7 degrees. That is amazing. I wish I could come play in the snow with you. Me and Dad were listening to John Denver tonight and the West Virginia song came on and that made me think of you, even though you don't live in West Virginia anymore, but you're still right next door. I wish I could come visit you. I miss you, Shandra. :0(
